The Elite RIO Perception is an easy casting, general purpose fly line that casts nymphs, dry flies, streamers and soft hackles with ease. The short head makes this a particularly good line on smaller rivers and lakes when long distance line control is not necessary.

This line is built with RIO's low-stretch ConnectCore Plus, resulting in exceptionally smooth, durable fly lines, with the added benefits of incredible levels of sensitivity when casting and fishing, and providing enhanced detection of takes, faster hook sets, and far greater control when playing a fish. In addition, this line is built with SlickCast, RIO's proprietary coating technology, creating the slickest, most durable fly lines on the market. Lab tests show that lines built with SlickCast have the least amount of friction ever measured in a fly line.

RIO Perception Elite is built for impeccable casting control and unparalleled feel and sensitivity. RIO has remade this line to be a half size heavy to cater to anglers fishing contemporary high-performance fast action fly rods. Features

SlickCast, MaxFloat, ConnectCore Plus - SlickCast is RIO’s hydrophobic fly line coating that helps this line repel water, shoot farther, and float higher. RIO has also added a special coating to the tip of the line that helps RIO Perception Elite sit high in the water column for improved performance. ConnectCore Plus minimizes line stretch for ultimate sensitivity, control, and hook setting abilities.

Uses

All-Round Floating Line for Fast Action Rods, Trout - RIO has built Perception Elite to be a fast action alternative to their lighter RIO Gold Elite line. Built a half-size heavy, Perception Elite allows anglers fishing high-performance rods to cast at any distance and with any trout-specific approach. If you’re throwing a double nymph rig, this line features great mending capabilities and has the ability to turn over heavy rigs. If you’re fishing dry flies, you can also carry a lot of line in the air and present flies with accuracy at longer distances. If you’re fishing a medium-fast or fast action trout rod, this is a great all-around line selection.

Temp

Cold/Moderate - This line is made to be used in cold and moderate climates including freshwater streams and rivers, lakes, and almost any climate. That being said, this line will turn limp in tropical climates and isn’t meant to be used in high heat.

Taper/Weight

Versatile Taper, Half Line Size Heavy - The taper and weight of the head on RIO Perception Elite marries versatility and performance with a head length of 36’ on the WF5F version of the line and a head weight that’s a half line size heavy. The heavier head weight helps load fast-action rods at all distances and the line taper encourages dry flies at distance or nymph rigs at close range. The head also features a three-color SureFire system that ensures distance control and supreme accuracy.
