We are super excited that Lamson finally brought the ARX Reel back, and the new version is even better! This reel has enough weight to balance longer spey rods, and the drag system to stop anything that swims in the PNW and beyond. The 9+ model is perfect for 6 weight spey rods longer than 12 feet, as well as all 7 and 8 weight spey rods. Some people (me!) like bigger reels, so I would personally put the 11+ reel on any 8 weight spey that is 13 feet or longer, as well as any 9 or 10 weight spey rod.
