They are finally back! These fiberglass spey rods are an absolute blast to fish, still have lots of power, but that glass feel that you can only feel when casting them. These new rods come in a 11’10 #6 Weight and a 12’ #7 Weight size to cover all your steelhead needs. Plenty of power in the butt of these, but still that feel you only get with fiberglass (somewhat bamboo as well).

Echo doesn’t even have all the specs of these rods out yet, as they just started shipping the week of January 6th 2025. My personal line recommendations are probably about a 425 skagit for the #6 and a 500 for the #7 although the older ones had a pretty big range they would throw. Go down 30-50 grains on your scandi. They still have lots of power and the full flex is great for tiring out big steelhead, as well as teaching you how to slow down your casting stroke and use your bottom hand.
